Nate won eight individual Outdoor Track Section V championships and was a member of three Section V championship teams at Geneva. Nate competed in two State Championships, placing 2nd in the 400 Meter Intermediate Hurdles and 4th in the 110 Meter High Hurdles in 1990. He was 5th in the 400 Hurdles in 1989. Nate also held the Section V record for the 400 hurdles for almost twenty years. He also won eight league championships and is the school record holder in the Hurdles and 1600 Meter Relay. Nate competed in two Indoor Track State Championships ('90, '89) placing 4th in the High Hurdles in '90. Nate won 3 Individual Indoor Section V Championships. Nate helped lead the GHS Indoor Track Team to it's only sectional title in 1989.
He was named 1st team all- league in football his senior year at Geneva and went on to be a record setting wide receiver at Hobart College. Coach Mike Canale, stated that "Nate Waye was one of the greatest athletes and individuals to ever compete for Geneva High School. He was a very coachable, respectful and well liked young man who always put the team first”.
