A 1986 graduate of Geneva High, Diane was the sectional champion in the 100 and 400 meter hurdles her junior and senior years. Diane also qualified for the state meet both years and finished sixth in the 100m hurdles as a senior. She was also a member of the 4x400 and 4x800 meter relay teams that won sectional titles. Dian set school records for the 100 and 400 meter hurdles and a Section V record in the 100 meter hurdles. She was chosen MVP of the track team three consecutive years.

Diane attended Herkimer Community College her freshman year where she was undefeated in the 100 meter hurdles and named team MVP. She transferred to Cortland State her sophomore year where she won the SUNYAC and ECAC titles in the 55 and 100 meter hurdles for three consecutive years. In 1990 Diane placed sixth in the NCAA Division III Women’s Indoor Track Championships and received All-American honors. In the 1991 outdoor season she finished 13th in the nation in Division III.
