One of the most athletic players to come out of Geneva High, Al was a three-time 1st-team Finger Lakes East all-star in both basketball and baseball. He was also an All-Greater Rochester and a Finger Lakes Times Fab Five selection in basketball his senior year.
Al was a four-year letter winner in both basketball and baseball and served as captain of both teams his senior year. A 5-10 quick slashing guard Al is the second leading scorer in school history. He was known for his defense and spectacular dunks. He helped guide the Panthers to the sectional finals in 1995. He was a member of the undefeated 1994 sectional championship and Geneva Sports Hall of Fame baseball team. An outstanding outfielder, Al made a game saving catch in the 1994 sectional championship game. An ideal leadoff hitter he was capable of stealing a base at any time.
Al went on to New Hampton Prep school after graduating from Geneva in 1996 where he played basketball and baseball. Upon graduation he received a four year scholarship to attend the University of South Carolina Aiken for baseball.
