Inducted Class of 1996
One of the best basketball players to come out of the Finger Lakes, Tyrone was a first team All-State selection his senior year. He earned All-Greater Rochester, All-League, and Section V All-Tournament honors his junior and senior years. The Panthers won league titles all three years that he lettered. Tyrone scored a total of 936 points during his high school career and averaged 12 rebounds per game.
Heavily recruited, Tyrone accepted a full scholarship to Boston College. A four-year letter winner at BC, Tyrone was one of the Big East’s premier defensive big men. His college coach, Jim O’Brien, described Tyrone as “one of the most coachable players I’ve ever been around. He has a tremendous work ethic…”Tyrone received the Frank Power Award his senior year. The award is given to the player who best exemplifies the loyalty, spirit, and love for Boston College basketball. Tyrone graduated from Boston College in 1988 and holds a Masters Degree in Sociology.
