A 1989 graduate of Geneva High, Dante Reid was selected to the Finger Lakes East all-star team all four years in baseball and was a unanimous selection three times. He was a three-time team MVP and had over a .400 batting average. He averaged .479 as a freshman and once hit four home runs in a game that year. He was team captain his junior and senior years. In 1989 he was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays and played in their minor league system. Dante was a three-year FL East all-star in basketball. He served as team captain his senior year and led the league that year in scoring with 22 points per game. He was named to the All-Greater Rochester team and was named to the All-State 3rd team as a senior. He was also named Section V tournament MVP as he helped lead the Panthers to a sectional crown in 1989. Dante scored over 1,000 points in his high school career.
