Dick Post, who graduated from Geneva High in 1962, was named Athlete of the Year at the Block G his senior year, a year in which he was honored by being named MVP in football, wrestling, and lacrosse. Dick was awarded the North-South Lacrosse Award for the Most Valuable lacrosse player, the W.E. Rogers Award for the Most Valuable football player and the Furano Award for the Most Valuable wrestler. Also, he was named captain in all three sports. He was a three-time league champion in wrestling.

After graduating, Dick joined the United States Navy and served in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal and the Navy Unit Commendation for Exceptionally Meritorious Service on May 10, 1965. When he returned to Geneva he became a police officer in the Geneva Police Department, but died unexpectedly in 1970 of cancer. In 2009 he was honored posthumously in a special ceremony at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, DC.
