Bill capped off his stellar interscholastic wrestling career by capturing the NYSPHSAA championship in the 155 lb. weight class and earning the title of Section V Wrestler of the Year. A 1996 graduate of Geneva High School, Bill was a three-time Section V Class B champion and a four-time all-league selection. His 153 career wins is second all-time in Panther history.

A five-year letter winner and three-time team captain, Bill helped guide Geneva to league titles in 1995 and 1996. He also helped them gain a state ranking of 13th both years. He was a three-time Empire State Games gold medalist in 1995. Bill was ranked nationally multiple times by the USA Wrestling Organization with his highest ranking being 2nd in his weight class.
