Inducted Class of 2006

Richard Moore, a 1963 Geneva High graduate, went 25-0 and won the heavyweight sectional title his senior year to cap off an outstanding three-year wrestling career. Richard lost only three times in his varsity career. In his sophomore year he beat the two-time sectional champion in his division in the quarterfinals. He was also a three-year letter winner in lacrosse and was a two-time first team all-conference selection as a defenseman. He also was a three-year letter winner in football.

After graduating, Richard went on to Cornell University where he was a three-year letter winner on the wrestling team. He placed third in the Eastern Championships his junior year and also earned an award for the most pins that year. He was a co-captain his senior year and was undefeated (4-0) when he broke his ankle in a match with Mike Reid of Penn State (later of the Cincinnati Bengals). Reid injured his knee in that same match and Richard won the match by default as he was leading 5-3. He earned two engineering degrees and a MBA from Cornell. He became an Associated Professor in Information Technology at the Hotel School at Cornell and taught there for 32 years.
