Roxanne brought national recognition to Geneva in 1964 when, as a freshman in Geneva High, she broke the 75-yard dash record. The following year she lowered her times to 10.8 seconds in the 100-yard dash and 25.2 seconds in the 220. And, she participated in the National A.A.U. Junior Olympics meet in Frederick, Maryland, where she made it to the finals in the 100 and 220 yard dashes. Roxanne was rated among the top six sprinters of her age in the country. She also competed in hurdle races during her junior and senior years. In her senior year she missed by a nose of qualifying for the National Junior Olympic team…and was voted “Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year” by the Niagara A.A.U. District. Roxanne graduated from the Geneva School of Practical Nursing and Hudson Valley Community College.
