A three-year starter for the DeSales Varsity Basketball team, Joe was a 1st-Team All-Greater Rochester selection and a 1st-team all-league selection his junior and senior years. He averaged 14.3 points per game and 16 rebounds per game his junior year and helped DeSales capture it’s first league title, a #6 ranking in the state, and the Rochester Diocesan Tournament. Joe’s last second shot against Elmira Notre Dame put DeSales in the finals of the Diocesan tournament where they defeated Aquinas and became the first team outside of Rochester to win the tournament. He led the league in scoring (22.6ppg), rebounds (18 pg), and blocked shots (5.4 pg) his senior year. He also helped lead the Saints to its second consecutive league title and a Class B Carter-Sammons Parochial Championship title.

After graduating from DeSales in 1972, Crisanti went on to play two years of basketball at Alfred University before a back injury ended his playing days. Joe has coached basketball at both St. Francis and DeSales. He was instrumental in starting the Boys and Girls Club basketball league.
