Isaac is currently the head football coach at Widener University where he has brought them back into prominence with a 14-7 record that included a 9-2 mark this season. The Pride went to postseason, upending Waynesburg 48-27 in the ECAC South Atlantic Bowl , and went 6-2 in the Middle Atlantic Conference to finish second behind nationally ranked Delaware Valley. Isaac’s first season as head coach was highlighted by Widener’s 28-27 upset at No. 8 Delaware Valley in the finale of the 2010 campaign. Widener scored 15 unanswered points in the final 7 1/2 minutes to regain the Keystone Cup. His 2012 team finished 11-1 and reached the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III football playoffs.
Isaac’s journey began at Geneva High where he was a two-year starter and captain on the football and basketball teams. He was all-league in both sports and was a member of the sectional championship basketball team his junior year. He was selected to play in both the Ronald McDonald All-Star game in basketball and the Eddie Meath All-Star game in football. After graduating from Geneva Isaac went on to the University of Rochester where he was named the 1992 UAA Conference Offensive Player of the Year, a two-time All-UAA running back and the third all-time leading rusher in school history. Isaac also served as captain of the football team his senior year. In October of 2012 he was inducted into the U of R Athletic Hall of Fame.
After earning his bachelor’s degree in Political Science in 1994 he began his coaching career at Hobart first serving as a running back coach then as a secondary coach. He has also served as an assistant coach at The Citadel, Delaware, Holy Cross, Lehigh, and Columbia before arriving in Chester, PA. He also had internships in the National Football League with the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles.
