Inducted Class of 1992
An outstanding amateur golfer, John was invited to play in the Porter Cup Championship in Niagara Falls 15 times. This invitation is only extended to the best amateur golfers in the United States. John graduated from DeSales High School in 1957 where he played basketball and golf. He went on to St. Bonaventure University where he played on the golf team for four years including the 1957 team that won the Middle Eastern College Championship. He has also coached golf at DeSales.
John was a medalist in the New York State amateur qualifying round in 1958. He is a seven-time Geneva City champ. He won the Finger Lakes Golf Association Championship, an event which features golfers from 32 country clubs in the Finger Lakes area, a record eight times. John joins his father who was inducted into the Geneva Sports Hall of Fame in 1991.
