Four at DeSales High School and nine at Geneva High School. She earned one in soccer as a freshman at DeSales as well as two in volleyball and one in tennis at Geneva. She then received three letters in basketball, all at Geneva where she was a three-time All-League selection, a two-year team Co-Captain and was chosen to play in the Exceptional Senior game.
Amanda earned six varsity letters in lacrosse. Three at DeSales where she was a two-time All-League selection. She earned another three varsity letters at Geneva where she was, again, a two-time All-League selection, a two-year team Co-Captain, Team MVP and played in the Exceptional Senior game. She was the only girl From Section V to play in the US Lacrosse Women’s Division National Tournament at Lehigh University that year, where she made the All-Star Team and played in the All-Star game. She was Geneva High’s Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year in 2006 and President of the Varsity Club.
After high school, she went on to Division 1 St. Bonaventure University on a lacrosse scholarship where she played a year before transferring to Division II Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina, also on a lacrosse scholarship. At Queens she was a two-year team Co-Captain and a senior was named to the Conference Carolina’s First Team, and All Tournament Team. She was named team MVP during her final season and was a USA College Lacrosse third team All American. She accomplished this after sitting out an entire season with two torn ACL’s and two knee surgeries. She also played in the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) North/South Senior Game and is still in the Queens University record books in 13 different categories. Amanda joined the Mercyhurst Women’s Lacrosse team as the assistant coach while pursuing her Master’s Degree at Mercyhurst University in Erie, PA. She helped guide the Lakers to a 28-9 record and a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Co-Championship in 2014.
Being inducted into the Geneva Sports Hall of Fame will find Amanda joining her great-grandfather, lacrosse legend Carlton J. Ferris, a member of the inaugural class of 1990. Amanda lives in Stanley, NY with her husband Aaron, and 1 ½ year old son, Leland.
