DeSales High School 1989 & 1990 Baseball Teams
Inducted Class of 2007

The members of the 1989 & 1990 teams made up the nucleus of players who won five straight league and sectional titles from 1988 to 1992. The Saints won three Section V Class D titles and two in Class C. During that time they had a 47 game winning streak from 1988 to 1991. In 1989 the team went 15-0 and followed up in 1990 by going 17-0. The quartet of Jim McDermott, Frank Pane Jr., Jim and Joe Vedora played on four of the championship teams during that run.

Other members of the teams included Paul Annunziata, Dean Askin, David Barnard, Matt Cannon, John Carroll, Ron Cecere, John Connor, Todd Hardy, Ed Marsteiner, Aaron Mantegna, Paul Priebe, Ed Smaldone, Bill Sweeney, Jeff Taney, Steve Vedora, Steve Cannuli, and Jim Walters. The team was coached by Frank Pane and assisted by Pete French and Steve Mruzek.
