Geneva High School 1964 Football Team


Inducted Class of 1997

The Geneva High 1964 football team compiled a 7-1 record and was undefeated in league play winning the Wayne-Finger Lakes championship for the first time in the 36 year history of the league. After losing their nonleague opener, the tam won seven consecutive games and the defense, nicknamed the “Animals”, was scored upon only three times in league play. Coach Bob Manners was named Coach of the Year and 14 members of the squad were selected for all league honors. Team members were: Sam Doyle, Ed Leo, Steve Wojchowski, Chuck Rogers, Joe Davoli, Mike Ryan, Steve Cecere, Pat Luzzi, Bob Myers, Co-Captain Frank Woznick, Jim Trickler, Jim Calabrese, Frank Urbano, Ralph Deledonne, Kam Matichak, Wayne Klue, Co-Captain Dave VanGorden, Joe Davis, Tony Antenucci, Bernie Deland, Bob Galasso, Don Jones, Tom Mahoney, Bruce Davie, Tony Crupi, Brad Place, Bill Buck, John Baldwin, Bill Vogt, Gary Hartman, Fred Heath, Leroy Carter, Tony Shabotynski, Phil Johnson, Assistant Coach John Fabrizio, and Head Coach Bob Manners.
