
1954-1957 Geneva High Golf Teams
Inducted Class of 2009
The Geneva High 1954-1957 Golf teams compiled a record of 32 wins, 3 losses, and 1 tie. Under the leadership of Coach Robert “Prof” Moore, the team completely dominated the newly created Finger Lakes High School Golf League winning four league championships and helped the Finger Lakes League Section V team win 3 consecutive Section V championships. The core of the team was Jim Cook, Denny Fryer, Pete Kirby, and Bob Young, all of the Class of 1957. Another member of the Class of ’57, Jay Fitzgerald, also contributed to the team’s success during this championship period. Golfers from other classes who contributed to this exceptional record were John Allen, Barth Englert, Bill Ferris, Tom Hennessey, Tom Higgins, George Leonard, Tim Rice, Gary Walsh, and Jerry Welch.
