A 1987 graduate of DeSales High, Babette was a four-year letterwinner in basketball, softball, and soccer. She played in four sectional basketball finals and was named to the Section V Class D all-tournament team her junior and senior years. She helped lead DeSales to three league titles, two sectional championships, and one regional title. DeSales also reached the semi-finals of he state tournament her sophomore year. Babette was a Finger Lakes West 1st-Team All-Star as a senior as well as a team captain and co-MVP. As a member of the soccer team, Babette was named 1st-team all-league twice. She was also named 2nd-team all-league in softball twice. Babette was selected as DeSales’ Outstanding Female Athlete her senior year.

Babette played basketball at Ithaca College where she received a Bachelor in Science degree in Physical Education. A physical education teacher at Waterloo High School, Babette coached the softball team to their first Section V title in 1995 and a second sectional title in 1997. Her team also won a league championship in 1996.
